Wonderful, magical adventure!

on 19 February 2021 I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I immediately got sucked into Ava's narrative and loved her voice. It was really cool to dive straight in with her as she arrived at her Aunt's manor with a ton of questions that she needed answering. Ava has an inkling that her Aunt's are slightly different but she doesn't exactly know why. After hearing whispers, having nightmares and getting caught in the woods by a force she could not explain or describe, she is determined to find out what is going on and why her Dad has gone missing. Flora-Beth's descriptions throughout this book were gorgeous. I could vividly picture the manor in my head and see the grounds and I could smell the flowers and the trees and got very excited turning each page to see what more was in store. Furthermore, all Authors blow me away.

I love how everyone has their own unique way of seeing the world and writing. I have especially loved getting into fantasy because it makes me smile so big at the worlds in which the author's create and how their imagination is transported to another level. Getting lost in the world of the Fae and learning about all the different magic and creatures was so much fun. I liked that Flora-Beth included the book that Ava's Dad wrote at the end of this story, so it was like a book within a book and we get to study the languages, the magic and the philosophy of this other realm. So much detail has gone into it, which is awesome! I really liked getting to know the Aunt's who all had such unique gifts and different personalities and I loved Ava's two friends in Morgan and Tarran. They were both so different but cared about Ava and I enjoyed their adventures together. I liked that they grew up knowing about this other world and now they get to bring Ava along for the ride and let her in on it all. This story made me smile and had me reminiscing about my days of watching Sabrina the Teenage Witch and wishing and praying that on my eighteenth birthday my Mum and my Auntie would come along and give me a flying vacuum cleaner and an ancient book of spells. It was such a wonderful journey and I simply adored letting my imagination wander to witches, faery's, mermaids, legends and myths. If you're looking for a magical adventure then I highly recommend you pick up a copy of 'The Faery Codex' today!
